Hello beautiful!💕
You know that I am a lover of natural skin care and I know from my mother's experience what it is like to have a sensitive skin condition and to have tried everything to improve it
Today I want to teach you how to identify the ingredients that may be irritating your skin, and even if you do not have sensitive skin, I want to teach you the ingredients that you should avoid to take care of your skin in a more natural way.
So what is sensitive skin?
It's not a skin type, it's a condition. You can still have combination, oily or dry skin and still be sensitive.
It is sensitive because it has some alteration that has caused the skin to lose its balance and function as a protective barrier, which is why redness, irritation, scaling, etc. appear.
Controlling skin sensitivity will depend on the appropriate ingredients you use to regenerate it and those you avoid using.
There are many types and degrees of sensitivity, that is why today I am going to show you the most common ingredients present in creams and cosmetics that you should avoid to control your skin sensitivity.
SULPHATES
These are components that generate foam in cleaning products It is very likely that if you do not have a natural cleanser, your facial cleanser has this ingredient.
The problem is that their action is so strong that they remove all the essential oils that your skin needs to stay balanced. If your protective barrier is already altered, this is going to make it worse.
PARABENS
This ingredient is used as a preservative, but many studies show its harmful effects on our health. For skin that is already sensitive, the use of products with parabens can cause contact dermatitis, among other skin problems.
I made a video here to tell you more about this ingredient👇
ARTIFICIAL DYES AND FLAVORS
We must avoid Tuttifruti smells or combinations that we know are not natural Artificial dyes and odors cause irritation and redness on the skin.
Choose products that have aromas based on essential oils, these do not irritate your skin and also have aromatherapy effects.
ALCOHOLS
Alcohols tend to dry out the skin as do sulfates, promoting dehydration. Not all alcohols generate this effect, if your product contains cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol or behenyl alcohol, you can use it since it works as an emollient and will not dehydrate the skin.
When selecting a skin care product, check its list of ingredients, verify that it does not have dyes, parabens or derivatives that can affect your health and worsen your skin.
