4 Things You Should Not Do When Recycling
Share
If you already have the habit of recycling at home, I want to congratulate you for doing so! If you don't do it, I invite you to start separating the garbage between organic, inorganic waste and material that can be recycled.
That is why today I share with you the 4 things you should not do when recycling:
#1 Do not use organic waste
Once we peel our seasonal fruits, it is not necessary to throw the peels in the trash, but rather you can use them.
In the case of pineapple, you can boil the peel in water for a few minutes. This infusion will help you have a flavored water that you can drink throughout the day and also enjoy its diuretic benefits.
With the banana peels you can boil them for 15 minutes as if you were going to make a tea. Let the infusion cool and you can use that water to water the plants. This is my mom's best tip to keep them very green and beautiful.
#2 Throw away recyclable packaging with food waste
If we have glass containers, it is important that you wash them before taking them to recycling. If the containers have food remains, they will not be suitable for recycling. Or even better, you can wash them and reuse them as food storage jars or your new savings piggy bank.
#3 Towels or napkins in recycling
Towels or napkins generally have grease or food residue that prevents them from being recycled. So it is better that we do not include it in the recycling basket
#4 Do not mark broken glass before throwing it away
If at home we break a glass, a vase or even a bottle, the ideal is to wrap the pieces of glass in newspaper, mark it to identify that it contains glass and finally deposit it in the container that you have designated for inorganic waste. recycle.
I hope you enjoyed this blog. You already know that every action, no matter how small, that we do for the environment and the planet counts!
