Why You Should be Using Organic Aloe Vera on Your Face

Ahh, aloe vera: Everyone’s go-to natural remedy for rectifying too much time spent in the summer’s sun. But did you know that the benefits of aloe vera go far beyond sunburns?

In fact, it may just be one of the most powerful, natural skin-care ingredients we have access to.

From lessening wrinkles and fine lines to curing acne, aloe vera is a miracle plant—and one we keenly use in our product line.

What is Aloe Vera, Anyways?

As popular as it is, you’d be hard-pressed to find many people who actually know what aloe vera actually is. Related to agave plants—which are used to make tequila and the like-named syrup—aloe vera is, actually, a species of succulent. That’s right: The aloe vera we love and adore also doubles as a hipster houseplant.

This evergreen perennial, while hailing from the Arabian Peninsula, also grows wild in tropical climates around the world. So, thankfully, there’s plenty of cultivated aloe vera to go around. (Granted, we only use harvested 100 percent organic aloe vera, but more on that later.)

Is Aloe Vera Good for Your Face?

Oh, it very much is! Aloe vera on the face allows many of the plant’s bevy of nutrients to permeate the skin, assisting to heal a litany of skin issues. Below is a list of those minerals and vitamins that make aloe vera such a powerhouse:

Aloe Vera Nutrients for Skin:

  • Vitamins A, B, C, D, and E
  • Vitamin B12 (Aloe vera is one of only a few plants to contain this nutrient)
  • Copper
  • Magnesium
  • Potassium
  • Zinc

What Does Organic Aloe Vera to the Skin?

Organic aloe vera is valued for how it can aid our digestion, immune system, and, of course, our skin. Those above-mentioned nutrients seep into the skin through our epidermis, nourishing it with vital goodies we, frankly, don’t get enough of these days.

All that said, is aloe vera good for dry skin? You bet! It’s those very moisturizing qualities about aloe vera that make it one of the best oil-free, natural moisturizers you can use. It also has certain amino and hyaluronic acids that exist in its “gel,” aiding the skin in locking-in moisture further.

Here are some other ways aloe vera can benefit your complexion:

Organic Aloe Vera Skin Benefits:

  • It helps combat signs of aging by plumping fine lines and wrinkles
  • The plant’s gel can also help lighten dark spots
  • Aloe vera can both soften and smooth skin
  • It can provide protection from the sun

However, we’ve yet to mention one of aloe vera’s hallmark skin benefits: helping to combat acne. Using aloe vera for acne calms the skin, reducing red marks and a blotched complexion, while also tackling the very bacteria that causes those breakouts in the first place. It also helps that his wonder plant includes salicylic acid, a well-known active ingredient in many effective skin-clearing products.

Our Facial Scrub Lets the Organic Aloe Vera Shine

We’re avid fans of all things aloe vera at Zue Beauty, and that affection for this succulent is on full display in our Exfoliating Facial Scrub.

To help our 100 percent organic aloe vera fully penetrate the skin, micro-pulverized apricot seeds are added into this scrub, helping gently remove layers dead skin cells to reveal new skin. The aloe vera, which contains the same astringent, soothing, and moisturizing properties we mentioned before, then helps to soften that fresh skin. And to top things off, our scrub utilizes quinoa proteins to boosts the skin’s elasticity and feel, leaving a youthful appearance.

We use only 100 percent organic aloe vera in this rejuvenating scrub, collected from sustainable crops helmed by master growers.

Better yet, all our products are proudly GMO and animal cruelty-free, so you know your final decision is just as eco-savvy as it is humanely sound.

  • Using the Exfoliating Facial Scrub: Twice a week, apply to wet skin and gently massage for 3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Follow with our Facial Moisturizer to really lock in the aloe vera’s moisturizing properties.

Some Final Words on Using Organic Aloe Vera on Your Face

I've been using this all natural 🌱vegan 🌾 cruelty-free 🐰 skincare line @zuebeauty for about a week now and I can't get enough of it! 💕 My skin feels so moisturized, and soft. It does not make me greasy, it sinks right in, and smells so good.

Hits me right in the feels. @zuebeauty is a clean, quinoa based line that addresses skin issues such as sensitive skin and anti-aging (bye wrinkles). Save your skin and the planet.

So far I really like their Exfoliating Facial Scrub, with quinoa and apricot seeds. It’s light and isn’t too harsh or dense. I get a nice smooth feeling without feeling like my face was fully stripped of oils and love that the ingredients look safe enough to eat... mostly plant based oils. I also preferred their Daily Facial Moisturizer over the night time version. The green tea extract leaves an amazing airy clean smell without being over powering. And my face feels hydrated but not oily. I just wish it had SPF already in it... I hate applying SPF after.

I enjoyed using the daily facial moisturizer because I found it to be well balanced not too heavy but heavy enough to feel like it was seeping into my skin and actually moisturizing me which I need in these dry days post winter. The green tea in the formula was nice and soothing on my skin it was hydrating and lovely.

I am obsessed with quinoa bowls🙃for my meals and when I heard of skincare having quinoa in it, I had to try it.. I have oily to combination skin which is sensitive and acne prone but the night cream was mild enough for my skin. I like the non-sticky formula which is perfect for this season.

I've been using them the past week and really like them. I love how light the creams are this would be great for oily skin and normal skin but it is also moisturizing so I think dry skin would love it too. I love the smell of these products and they feel so refreshing on the face

even in the wild, i take my damn skincare seriously! woke up today super happy that i brought my @zuebeauty cleanser along for mornings at the campsite 😌 feeling refreshed and ready for more adventures!

I have been using now for almost a month, and I'm in love. The soothing facial toner is made of quinoa and cucumbers, so it's very refreshing and I love the fact that it is a spray bottle it's very easy to use, just spray into your hands and tab all over your face or spray onto your face and make you life easier. Usually, I barely use toners but this one has a smooth texture and feels really pleasant on the skin, it doesnt feel rough or sticky like others that I have tried before!

Our long, cold Canadian winters can sure take a toll on our skin. That’s why using a hydrating, non greasy moisturizer is so important‼️ Zue’s moisturizer is nongmo vegan and smells and feels amazing‼️ I definitive give the moisturizer a 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ #over50 #antiaging #lookyourbest #agegracefully

I always have to up my skin care in the winter when my skin dries up. So, I’m thrilled to be working with a Vegan, certified B-corp skin care company! I was a little skeptical because it’s made from Quinoa. But, I’ve been using the day and night moisturizer for about a week, and am so happy with the results! The day version works great with makeup and neither feels greasy. 🧖🏻‍♀️💞

I simply adore the uplifting citrus aroma that gets me going in the morning and that I can apply sunscreen afterwards without it turning cakey or flaky because it absorbs nicely into my skin. I noticed that the redness around my nose has improved since using these products. I love that these are all made without parabens, artificial fragrances, petrolatum, or GMOs. #over40 #instabeauty #greenbeauty

I love the texture of this moisturizer! It has a gel-cream consistency that quickly absorbs into your skin and leaves your skin feeling instantly hydrated without greasy feeling and leaves no residue and also has amazing smell of Lemon Verbena leaf and Ylang Ylang.

OK, confession time…. I have been less than kind to my skin since having babies. Honestly, by the time I get to bed I am just so exhausted, I often skin the cleansing, the toning, the seruming, the moisturizing. I know, I know…I’m sorry! I know I’m going to get a ton of skincare peeps scalding me, hahahaha, and what’s worse is that I know you’re right!! So here I am on the almost eve of my 38th birthday, COMMITTING to better skincare. There…I said it, I’m really going to do it ;) I’ve been trying this moisturizer for the past week or so, and I can honestly see and feel the difference already. With years of neglect and dry winter skin, it kind of has its work cut out ;) What I love most about these moisturizers (I’ve been using restoring night cream and daily facial moisturizer) is that they are vegan, cruelty free, support sustainable farming PLUS they share a portion of their proceeds to make the world a better place. BOOM. So as I’m committing to treating my skin better, I’m also committing to treating the world better. Win, win, win!

Loving the Daily Facial Moisturizer!
